YOUTH MINISTRIES

The Youth Group at First Presbyterian meets in the ECHO Center weekly
on Sunday nights from 6 :00 - 7:30 p.m.
and Wednesday nights from 6:30 - 7:00 p.m.

There are five intentions of the Presbyterian Youth Ministry:

To call young people to be Disciples of Christ.

To respond to the needs and the interests of young people.

To work together, youth and adults, in partnership.

To be connected to the whole church, community, and the world.

To include all young people, reaching out and inviting them to belong to the community of faith.

We also attend many Presbyterian Youth camps, retreats, and rallies, such as the Polar Thang in Tyler in January, the Senior High Youthquake at Camp Ozark, the Youth Thang in September at Lake DeGray, Montreat in North Carolina, and MoRanch in Hunt, TX.

We have also provided Vacation Bible School for First Presbyterian Church in Ashdown.

Some of the service projects we have done include: a fan drive in July, cleaning yards for elderly church members, collecting old towels, blankets, dog food and cat food for the Animal Shelter, making Christmas boxes for CASA, the Domestic Violence Shelter, and children in Sudan, Africa. We also feed at the Randy Sam's Shelter in January.
