SESSION MINUTES

SPECIAL MEETING JULY 29, 2007

A Special Meeting of the Session of the First Presbyterian Church, Texarkana, Arkansas was held on Sunday, July 29, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. in the Library/Session Room.

Elders present were Pat Davitt, Richard Sexton, Carla Lacy, Sheila Moore, Lynn Jackson, and Moderator Reverend Dianne Brown. Also present were Margo Strickland, representing the Diaconate, and Clerk Stacy Cogbill.

Reverend Brown called the meeting to order and gave the opening prayer. She said the purpose of the meeting was to receive new members.

NEW MEMBERS

Mr. and Ms. Will Scott were introduced to the Session and expressed their desire to join our church. Reverend Brown said the Scotts also asked that their infant daughter, Margaret Claire Scott, be baptized during the morning worship service.

Reverend Brown said that the new members would be received as follows:

Mr. Will Scott – To be baptized at the morning worship service.

Ms. Rachel Scott – To be received by transfer of letter from the First United

Methodist Church, Jackson, Tennessee.

Margaret Claire Scott – To be baptized during the morning worship service.

MOTION - was made by Lynn Jackson and seconded by Sheila Moore to

received the Scott family as stated above. The motion passed.

ADJOURNMENT

The Scott family was welcomed by the Session and Reverend Brown closed the meeting with a prayer.
