SESSION MINUTES

SPECIAL METING MARCH 4, 2007

 

 

The Session of the First Presbyterian Church, Texarkana, Arkansas met in a Special Meeting on Sunday, March 4, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. in the Library/Session Room.

 

Elders present were Martha Nell Richards, Charles Morgan, Richard Sexton, Fran Keasler, Billie Ford, Sheila Moore, Don Johnson, Lynn Jackson, Dr. David Williams, and

Moderator Reverend Dianne Brown. Also present was Merilynn Johnson, representing the Building Committee, and Clerk Stacy Cogbill.

 

Reverend Brown called the meeting to order and gave the opening prayer. She said the purpose of the meeting was to consider a request to purchase furniture for the nursery.

 

Merilynn Johnson presented a detailed proposal to the Session for the purchase of furniture and equipment for the church nursery and Mother’s Day Out Program. The elders asked Ms. Johnson several questions about the proposal.

 

            MOTION -     was made by Charles Morgan and seconded by Lynn Jackson to

                                    allow up to $8,000.00 for the Building Committee to purchase

                                    furniture and equipment for the church nursery. The Session

                                    agreed that the funds would come from the General Operating

                                    Account and not the Capital Campaign Building Fund. The motion

                                    passed.
