CONGREGATIONAL MEETING MINUTES
NOVEMBER 25, 2007
After proper notice was
given, a Congregational Meeting of the First Presbyterian Church,
Elder Charles Morgan had been
elected by the Session to serve as moderator. Mr. Morgan declared a quorum
present, asked the clerk to record the minutes, and opened the meeting with
prayer. Mr. Morgan said the purpose of the meeting was to elect a Pastor
Nominating Committee.
Ms. Billie Ford, co-moderator
of the Nominating Committee was called to the pulpit to make the recommendation
and motion for the election.
MOTION – was made by Billie Ford and seconded by Ruth
Davis that the
Pastor Nominating Committee be composed
of five (5) members
with two (2) alternates. The
motion passed.
MOTION – was made by Billie Ford and seconded by Ruth
Davis that the
following
members be elected to the Pastor Nominating
Committee:
Hayes McClerkin, Moderator
Melanie
Gloster
Cynthia
Walker
Doke
Douglas
Michael
Martin
Kevin
Thompson – 1st Alternate
Ronnie
Walraven – 2nd Alternate
The moderator called for any
nominations from the floor. There were none. The vote was taken and the motion
passed unanimously.
The meeting was closed with
the charge and benediction.
