The Evergreen 'Angel Tree'

Small requests. Simple needs. Special people.

Every Christmas for many, many years the PW has sponsored the “Angel Tree” for Evergreen Presbyterian Ministries. This year we have 26 clients of Evergreen who have made their wishes known to “Santa.” And this year this mission seems especially poignant as we have recently entered into another relationship with Evergreen. Several of their clients are now attending our Wednesday night activities where they have dinner with the FNS crowd and attend a “Godly Play” class especially prepared and presented for them. Our church has reached out and invited residents of Evergreen to be a part of our church family. So when you select a gift request or two from the Angel Tree this year and purchase, wrap and return it to be delivered on Christmas morning, remember that you are doing this for members of our family and very special children of God.

Thanks to your generosity, 78 gifts were purchased and will be delivered by Christmas!

Advent Concerts in the Sanctuary on Thursdays at Noon...

Thanks to Howard and Mary Scott Goode and to

The Texarkana Womens Chorus: Remica Gray (director), Mary Scott Goode (accompanist) and to

Candace Taylor and Marc-Andre Bougie for three beautiful Advent concerts that were a blessing to all who heard them!

Thanks also to the members of the PW Council, the PW Zelle Moore Circle, and the Chancel Choir who provided the warm and delicious meals following the concerts.  We look forward to next year!

100 Wreaths Placed on Veterans Graves at Rose Hill

Twelve youth and six adults visited Rose Hill Cemetery on Friday, December 16, and placed wreaths to honor our veterans. It was a very special time with church family, including a mom with a son in active duty in the Army.

I hope over the next few weeks you will find the opportunity to drive through and honor these Veterans, too.  Rose Hill Cemetery is on LELIA street, off WEST FOURTH street (past Miller Bowie Supply).  The wreaths will remain up until after Epiphany. Thank you for your continued support and please contact a youth member or me if you find clearance wreaths and/or red bows when the sales start!

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Miss Jane
